Fall 2022 REC LEAGUE- ADDITIONAL DETAILS

RETURNING PLAYER DEADLINE:  If you are interested in returning to the same team as this spring please register by August 10, 2022. After that date, players will be added based on availability.

PRACTICES: The season will kick off for all teams with two weekends of team practices  -- the first on Saturday September 10 and the second on either September 17 or 18, depending on your team. For grades 2-8, there will be no other team practices during the fall season -- games only.  For K/1 teams, there will be 3 clinic-style practices (one per week) on weekdays the first few weeks of the season and then games only.

GAMES:  All games will be played on Sundays between 11:30 AM-6:00 PM  from September 25 - October 30.  Make-up date if needed will be November 6.  All games will be played in the Bethesda/Potomac/Rockville area.

FORMAT:  The fall is a slightly different format than the spring-- it's smaller fields and 7 v 7 so fewer players on the field.  Lots of touch on the ball and lots of ACTION!

FULL EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR ALL PLAYERS IN ALL DIVISIONS:

  • Helmet
  • Shoulder/Chest Pads **
  • Elbow Pads
  • Gloves
  • Stick
  • Mouthguard
  • Protective Cup highly recommended

ROSTERS/SCHEDULES: Rosters will be emailed to coaches at the end of August and game schedules will be published shortly after Labor Day.

GAME UNIFORM:  Will be provided by Bethesda Lacrosse.

REQUESTS: In the online registration, you may enter a Coach Request and/or Teammate Requests. These are not guaranteed, but Bethesda Lacrosse will try to accommodate your requests.

COACHING: If you are interested in coaching your son's team, the Registration Fee will be waived. Please contact Vicki Langerman for more information.

ALL REC TEAMS

Absolutely no outside club/travel players may play in this league with the exception of 2nd and 3rd grade BLC players. ANY PLAYER FOUND IN VIOLATION WILL BE IMMEDIATELY EJECTED. PLAYERS MAY ONLY PARTICIPATE ON ONE TEAM WITHIN THIS LEAGUE. THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED!

Bethesda Lacrosse Association reserves the right to limit the number of "club" players on each team for 2nd/3rd. We are working to create parity between teams in each division and appreciate everyone's understanding. We will allow between 3-6 club players per team (dependent on registrations) per season. Our goal is to have a balanced league with competitive games for all skill levels. Bethesda Lacrosse Association remains as the area's only non-profit youth lacrosse program that works to bring the love of lacrosse to all those that are interested in playing in a format that safe, fun, competitive and instructional.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT OUR BOYS REC LEAGUE, PLEASE EMAIL Vicki Langerman (BETHESDABOYSLACROSSE@GMAIL.COM)
