NOW IN OUR 25TH YEAR! Bethesda Lacrosse is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization established in 1989 to provide an outstanding opportunity for players, ages 5-15, to learn and play lacrosse. We have lacrosse programs for girls and boys and we have also developed a year-round Travel Program.
Our objective is to accommodate as many recreational players as possible, while providing top-notch competitive opportunities for advanced players. Our goal is to give our community youth a great lacrosse experience including life-long lessons of sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership.

· Two plus practices/week for Spring 2015 with Saturday/Sunday games in NPYLL and/or HOCO Travel League.
· Fall/Spring/Summer Tournaments as determined by team/coach, ending late June/early July.
Bethesda Lacrosse is a non-profit organization. Fees cover extra practices, uniforms, equipment, coaching fees, field rental, and tournament/league registrations. The Travel Team fee will be divided into three installments. A deposit payment of will be due upon acceptance. Additional payments will be due November 15th, and January 1st . Coaches set the budget for each team and final payments will be adjusted based on actual team costs. Budgets vary due to league and tournaments chosen for each team. Budgeted team fees will be included in the Player Acceptance email and will be all inclusive.
Bethesda Lacrosse GIRLS TRAVEL Team Information 2014-2015 Season
Tryouts will be held Sunday, August 24th to select players for the Bethesda Lacrosse Girls Travel Teams. Bethesda Lacrosse plans to field six teams-3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th Grades. Each team will have approximately 18-20 players. Tentative times listed below.
Travel Teams are GRADE based and are for more experienced players who can commit more time and play at a higher competitive level. Our dedicated and experienced coaches look forward to working with the selected players.
3rd Grade: 2-4pm
4th Grade: 4-6pm
5th Grade: 10-12pm
6th Grade: 12-2pm
7th Grade: 2-4pm
8th Grade: 4-6pm

Pre-registration is required on-line. Players MUST attend the 1st tryout session. If necessary, additional call back sessions will be scheduled during the week of August 25th. Players will be notified by email for call backs and team placement.
If your daughter plans to play on a Bethesda Fall Team (regardless of current team placement), you must also register her online for the appropriate fall division. Should your daughter be placed on a Travel Team the $275 fall fee will be transferred to the 1st Travel Payment due September 10th. Registration for Fall 2014 will be available online July 1st.

Fees for the 2013-2014 season were between $800-$950 per player. Budgeted team fees will be included in the Player Acceptance email.
Tryouts will be held at Washington Episcopal School-5600 Little Falls Parkway, Bethesda MD 20816 and St. Bartholomew Catholic School-6900 River Road, Bethesda MD 20817.

Coaches (2014-2015 Season) 3rd Grade Team
Coaches: Eddie O, Fon Muttamara, Christian Chambers
Eddie O has been coaching with the Bethesda Girls Lacrosse program since early 2011. He has coached teams from the 1st through the 4th grade. Eddie completed two levels of the US Lacrosse Women's Coaches Education Program and is certified at Level 2. Eddie played college lacrosse, as a midfielder for the Maryland Terrapins. He loves lacrosse, enjoys teaching the game to youth athletes and helping them develop a passion for the game. He currently has two daughters who play with Bethesda.
Fon Muttamara has coached for several Bethesda Lacrosse teams since Spring 2011, including a select team, and also coached clinics for Bethesda Lacrosse and provided goalie clinics. Fon played lacrosse in Montgomery County (Watkins Mill) and at the University of Maryland.
Christian Chambers is a Level 2 certified Women's Lacrosse Coach with US Lacrosse and has been coaching with the Bethesda Girls Lacrosse program since early 2011. He's coached teams from the 1st through the 4th grade. Christian played football and club lacrosse at Cornell University. He enjoys participating in the development of young athletes and helping them grow on and off the field. He currently lives in Bethesda and has three daughters that all have been involved with the Bethesda Girls Lacrosse program.
4th Grade Team Coaches: Lisa Anzelone, Kim Kuehl, Greg White
Lisa Anzelone coached Varsity Lacrosse and Field Hockey for Long Island Manhasset High School for four years. She played lacrosse and field hockey for Long Island New Hyde Park Memorial HS for 6 years, with 5 of the years dedicated to varsity play. Lisa received a Master of Education from Temple University and has over a decade of middle school and elementary school teaching experience. She currently teaches at St. Andrew's Episcopal School and has been volunteer coaching for Bethesda Lacrosse for 3+ years. Lisa is dedicated to building relationships with area high school coaches and their players in order to inspire her team with guest coaching experiences. Her husband Darren also volunteer coaches for Bethesda and their four children play for Bethesda teams as well. Kim Kuehl has been coaching with Bethesda Lacrosse for 3+ years in both the instructional clinics and team League. Kim started playing lacrosse in 6th grade and continued thru to the collegiate level. She played both field hockey and lacrosse at the University of Virginia and was a member of two National Championship Lacrosse teams. She continues to share her love of the sport and hopes to develop strong skills, teamwork and good sportsmanship in her players. Her three children play on Bethesda lacrosse teams. GregWhite has been coaching in the Bethesda Girls Lacrosse League since 2010 in both the instructional clinic and team league programs. He played four years of college lacrosse at Wesleyan University where he was team Captain and selected to the All New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) team. Greg takes pride in recruiting promising athletes to the league and introducing them to the game of lacrosse. One of his three daughters has played in the league since 2010.
5th Grade Team
Coach Brad Mitchell and Lauren Binstein
Brad Mitchell has been coaching in the Bethesda Girls/Boys programs since 2010. His daughter Ally (5th grade) and son Mark (2nd grade) are avid Bethesda Lacrosse Travel Team players. Brad played lacrosse at West Point and he remains on active duty in the U.S. Army. Brad takes great pride in coaching and mentoring young athletes to be mentally/physically tough lacrosse players that play with exceptional sportsmanship.
Lauren Binstein has coached 2 years for Next Level lacrosse. She played four years of Division 1 lacrosse at American University. In high school she played 4 years of Varsity lacrosse as well as 4 years of soccer. Lauren is dedicated to helping the girls develop their lacrosse skills as well as their mental toughness to help them grow both on the lacrosse field and off.
6th Grade Team
Coach: Sarah Kahle and Brooke Jobson
Sarah Kahle began playing lacrosse for Jackson Memorial High School(Jackson, NJ). Sarah continued her lacrosse career as the starting goalie for Queens University of Charlotte (Charlotte, NC). She was ranked 3rd in Division II for a goals against average of 6.29 and was picked as player of the week for the Carolina-Virginia Conference in 2007. Sarah has been with Bethesda lacrosse since 2011. Prior to that, she was the Girl's Varsity Lacrosse Coach and Assistant Varsity Field Hockey Coach for Allentown High School (Allentown, NJ). Sarah prides herself on being a "late bloomer" (only have 2 years of lacrosse experience in High School) in the lacrosse world and encourages girls that is is never too late to pick up a stick. Her goals as a coach are to help girls build confidence on and off the lacrosse field, and teach players how to transition fundamental skills into game concepts. Sarah currently works as a civilian for U.S. Army Headquarters, in Arlington, VA.
Brooke Jobson has played lacrosse since 3rd grade on rec, club, and school teams. In college she played club lacrosse at New York University. After college Brooke played in a post collegiate league for 1 year and started coaching middle school team at Friends School in Baltimore. Brooke has coached the Bethesda Lacrosse 5/6th grade team for the past two seasons.
7th Grade Team Head Coach: AJ Gravel
Assistant Coach: Kristina Muldoon
A.J. Gravel has been a coach with the Bethesda Girls Lacrosse program since its inception. He has participated in both the Level 1 and Level 2 girls US Lacrosse Coaches Education Program and the Level 1 and Level 2 boys program as well. His philosophy focuses on working to improve individual lacrosse skills while also teaching team concepts and sportsmanship. Prior to becoming involved in the Bethesda Girls Lacrosse program A.J. coached a variety of youth sports for ten years including soccer, football and boys lacrosse. He has participated on the Board of Directors of the Bethesda Lacrosse Association as an At-large member and Secretary and currently serves as the President of the Association. Kristina Muldoon has been coaching for Bethesda Lacrosse since it started in 2009 by helping to launch the first ever Bethesda Lacrosse Girl’s Instructional Clinic. Kristina has been coaching ever since. Kristina played Varsity Lacrosse at Bowdoin College for four years. Upon graduating, she spent some time coaching elementary as well as high school soccer and lacrosse. Kristina received a Master in Education from Marymount University and has been teaching and working with children for over fifteen years. She currently teaches Second Grade at The Primary Day School. Her teaching and coaching philosophy are one in the same. Learning should incorporate dedication, practice, teamwork and fun. Kristina’s entire family loves the sport of lacrosse. Her daughters play for Bethesda and her husband, Tom, has spent many years coaching Boys Lacrosse for MYLA, Bethesda, and currently their son’s Club Blue team.
8th Grade Travel Team Coaches: Brad Kotz and Nick Lantuh
Assistant Coach: Cat Raff
Brad Kotz and Nick Lantuh both played Division 1 (Brad at Syracuse & Nick at Cornell), professional box and professional field lacrosse. Brad Kotz played for 10 years on several teams representing the USA. Additionally, they have coached college, high school and youth lacrosse (both boys and girls for a combined 40+ years).
We are also lucky to have Cat Raff, a collegiate player (Ohio Wesleyan University), along with visiting high school player coaches assisting during the spring. Cat also played for the Capital Lacrosse Club and the Academy of the Holy Cross.
This coaching trio has been together for the past three years.
League and Clinic Registration will begin July 1st.

Players must have either participated in the previous spring or summer Instructional/Introductory Clinic, or another program /camp acceptable to Bethesda Lacrosse. The decision to accept another program's course of instruction is solely that of the Bethesda Lacrosse House Commissioner. All players must have full equipment.

Dates: Saturday mornings beginning Saturday, September 13th, through October 25th (NO RAINDATE).
Location: North Bethesda Middle School
Basic skills and fundamentals will be taught in small group drills, progressing to learning positions, rules, and limited strategy. The last two sessions will feature small-sided scrimmages. All players will need FULL equipment. Your son will not be permitted to play without a mouth guard. Players who complete the Fall 2014 Instructional Clinic will be eligible to participate in the Spring 2015 Instructional/Scrimmage Clinic or move onto a team, unless not deemed appropriate by Clinic coaches.
All players MUST have a mouth guard, protective cup, helmet, shoulder pads, arm guards, gloves, and stick.
Game schedules/locations will be available first week of September.
Players must have prior lacrosse experience, camp/clinic/team, in order to register.
Divisions: 2nd Grade , 3rd/4th Grade, 5th/6th Grade, and 7th/8th Grade. (1st Graders should attend Clinic)
