There are no guarantees for Coach requests.  We make every effort to put players from the same school together.

Games will be played on Sundays, starting September 12^th and running through October 31st between 10am and 5pm at Hoover and North Bethesda Middle Schools (NO RAINDATE).  The September 12^th session will be held at Bullis HS for the U9, U11, and U13 divisions (more details to follow later this summer).

The league play age division requirements for Fall 2010 through Spring 2011 for BOTH Travel and Non Travel in each division will be as follows:

U7:               9/1/03 to 8/31/04 ( 7 on 7 Scrimmage League )
U9:               9/1/01 to 8/31/03
U11:             9/1/99 to 8/31/01
U13:             9/1/97 to 8/31/99
U15:             1/1/96 to 8/31/97

Notes: PLAYERS MAY ONLY PLAY ON ONE TEAM WITHIN THE BETHESDA LACROSSE LEAGUE. THIS INCLUDES BOTH HOUSE TEAMS AND OUTSIDE TEAMS.

*Boys with birthdates between Sept 1 - Dec 31, 1997/99/01, who will be eligible to remain an additional year in U13/U11/U9 under the new cutoffs, have the option to move up to U15/U13/U11 with other boys of their same birth year.

TRAVEL PLAYER NOTE:

Please make sure to indicate the HEAD COACH you played for this past spring or, if you only played for Bethesda in the summer, the HEAD COACH for the summer team. At least one, and possibly two teams at each travel level -- U11, U13 and U15 -- will play in the local Next Level Fall League on Sundays.  Other teams will play in the Bethesda Fall League.  Fall team assignments will have no bearing on selections for the spring travel teams, which will be selected based on open tryouts in early November (dates/location TBD)

Registration for Clinics will open July 1st for existing Bethesda Lacrosse players and July 15th for those players new to Bethesda Lacrosse.
 

SCOOPERS (Boys and Girls)

Scoopers is a new clinic offering which introduces boys and girls to the fastest growing sport in the United States. The Scoopers curriculum is based on learning through play. Fundamentals of the game are taught in a safe, fun filled environment.  This no contact introduction to the game only requires players to have a stick

(provided with registration). 

FEE: $125

BIRTHYEARS BOYS: 1/1/2005-8/31/2006

GIRLS: Kindergarteners

LOCATION:  
North Bethesda Middle School (Boys and Girls)

TIME: 9:45-10:45 am

SEASON: Saturday, September 18th through October 23rd

INTRODUCTORY CLINIC 

Fundamentals of the game are taught in a small group, “skills & drills” setting.  Instruction progresses to positions, rules, and limited strategy.  The last two sessions feature skill review and beginning scrimmage. The clinic is intended to prepare players for team play.  This is a full contact clinic and ALL players, boy and girls, are required to have full equipment.

FEE: $150 for boys and $175 for girls

BIRTHYEAR BOYS: 9/1/1999-8/31/2005

GIRLS: 1st through 8th Grade

LOCATION: North Bethesda Middle School

        BOYS Time: 8:00 am-9:30 am

        GIRLS Time: 11:00 am-12:30 pm

BOYS INSTRUCTIONAL CLINIC

For older boys who have not played on a team or completed the Introductory Clinic previously, but would like to register for a team this season.  These players are permitted to register for this clinic as well as for a team on a concurrent basis.  Dual participation is required in order for a player without experience to register for a team. The clinic will focus on the basic fundamentals of the game and supplement the instruction each boy is receiving from their team coach.  It consists of several instructional sessions on cradling, passing, catching, defense, ground balls, and game play during last two sessions

SEASON: Saturday, September 18th through October 23rd (Raindate October 30th)

LOCATION: North Bethesda MS

TIME: 1:00-2:30PM

 BOYS INTERMEDIATE SKILLS CLINIC   

This clinic is headed up by Performance Lacrosse for boys who are registered for a team and also have prior experience either from playing on a team or having completed the Introductory Clinic the previous season.   This clinic will supplement the instruction each boy is receiving from their team coach. Sessions will focus on stick work, dodging, shooting, defense fundamentals, riding, clearing, individual roles within an offense/defense. The final two sessions will focus on 1on1, 2on2, and unsettled situations as well as game management.  Boys will be divided into groups according to their age

GIRLS

Registration for our Fall League
will begin on 
July 1st for returning players and
July 15th for players new to Bethesda Lacrosse.



Registration is based on player's Fall 2010 grade
Teams will be formed based on the following divisions:
2nd Grade*
3rd/4th Grade
5th/6th Grade
7th/8th Grade

*1st Graders may only participate in the Instructional Clinic.  Fall is typically "Games Only" and 1st Graders would not have sufficient game experience without prior practice.
 

ANY PLAYER REGISTERING FOR A TEAM MUST PARTICIPATE IN AN INSTRUCTIONAL CLINIC AND/OR CAMP PRIOR TO JOINING A BETHESDA TEAM.

IF A PLAYER WANTS TO PLAY THIS FALL, THEN SHE MUST PARTICIPATE IN AN INSTRUCTIONAL CLINIC/CAMP THIS SUMMER. IF A PLAYER WANTS TO PARTICIPATE NEXT SPRING, THEN SHE MAY TAKE THE INSTRUCTIONAL CLINIC THIS FALL.

Instructional Clinic:
1st-4th Grade will be grouped together.
5th-8th Grade will be grouped together.

Grades 1-4 will be learning the fundamentals of girls lacrosse including stick handling and then progress to field positions and scrimmages. It will be a fun learning environment that prepares players for team play. Grades 5-8 will focus on technique, strategy and rules and will quickly move to game situations assuming the players have been working on stick handling fundamentals on their own. Players are required to have full equipment. Fee: $175

Scoopers Clinic:
